Police in Doncaster have released an e-fit image of a male they want to speak to following reports of a bogus caller in Doncaster.

In recent days and weeks, police in Doncaster have received a number of reports of a teenage boy calling at the homes of OAPs in Edlington, Balby, Hexthorpe and Intake.

The boy claims his grandmother has been taken gravely ill, and then asks for money to pay for a taxi fare home.

This story is false and this is simply a means of stealing money from well-intentioned persons. Police in Doncaster are currently investigating this series of reports and are keen to identify the offender.

The boy is described as white, of a slim build, 5ft to 5ft 6ins tall, with short mid-brown or dark hair, sharp / pointed facial features, with a local accent, aged between 14 and 20 years, but possibly at the younger end of this age range.

Anyone with information should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1037 of the 20 January 2013, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
