Hospital asking for smoking opinions

PATIENTS are being asked for their opinions on hospital smoking bans.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is consulting with patients, visitors and residents for their views on whether or not people should be allowed to smoke on their grounds.

The trust currently has a total ban on smoking with anyone wishing to light up having to leave its sites including Doncster Royal Infirmary and Mexborough Montagu. But this has led to problems, including littering of cigarette butts and has led to groups of smokers congregating outside entrances, clinic rooms and office windows.
