Hope of more airport flights

Robin Hood Airport

Robin Hood Airport

ROBIN Hood Airport bosses are heading to Abu Dhabi to take part in an international conference aimed at attracting new routes to Doncaster.

Managers wll be travelling to the 18th World Route Development Forum this weekend to speak to airlines to see if there are opportunities to expand the Finningley site.

The team has already arranged meetings with 20 leading airlines, as bosses look to develop their business further.

On of the main topics on the agenda will be the approval of the Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme - linking the M18 to the airport - which it is hoped will entice more airlines to Doncaster.

Craig Richmond, chief executive said: “Following the green light for FARRRS, this event gives us a great opportunity to tell airlines about the tremendous benefits this road will bring and the opportunities available to develop their business from here as a consequence.”

Mr Richmond added the new road would position Robin Hood as ‘the natural airport of choice for the region’s passengers.’
