Fire service wins top award

SOUTH Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has been presented with an award in recognition of its support to the region’s Reserve Forces.

The service has supported several employees, over a number of years, in their role as a reservist for the Army, Navy and Air Force.

A Certificate of Support, signed by the Chief of the Defence staff and the Secretary of State for Defence, was presented to South Yorkshire’s Assistant Chief Fire Officer Neil Hessell.

Mr Hessell said: “We are delighted to be recognised in this way and are very proud to be supporting the Reserve Forces. Not only do reservists provide a vital role to our armed forces, but we and our employees also benefit enormously.”
