A TAKEAWAY worker is facing jail after sexually abusing several young girls.

Mohammed Forash preyed on his five victims for several months before his offending came to light.

Forash worked at Indian restaurant Cinnamon in Epworth High Street.

A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said: “The offences had been committed between September 2011 and March 2012. There were five different victims and six charges.

“We can confirm that the defendant worked at the Cinnamon Takeaway in High Street in Epworth. It’s a family-run business. We are not able to provide any more details at this stage.”

Forash, 44, was arrested in April. Following interviews with detectives from Humberside Police he was subsequently charged with one count of rape and six counts of sexual assault.

He denied the charges but following a seven-day trial at Grimsby Crown Court a jury found him guilty of six counts of sexual activity with a child.

Following the hearing, a Humberside Police spokesman confirmed that Forash had first appeared before North Lincolnshire Magistrates’ Court on April 28.

A force spokesman encouraged other victims of sex crimes to come forward and help bring their attackers to justice.

She added: “Anyone that is concerned about any offences of this nature should report them to the police.”

Forash, of Exeter Road, Scunthorpe, was remanded in custody after this week’s hearing.

He will be sentenced at Hull Crown Court at a date later in the year.
