A 21-YEAR-OLD cyclist is fighting for his life after a collision in Doncaster.

The man, from Burghwallis, is being treated for serious head injuries in Leeds General Infirmary after his bike collided with a car in Skellow Road yesterday evening.

Officers would especially like to speak to the driver of a green vehicle that was seen exiting Mill Lane at the time of the collision, as they may be able to provide vital information to help with the investigation.

A Ford transit van driven by a 31-year-old local man was travelling along Skellow Road away from the A1 when it collided with the pedal cycle that had exited Mill Lane, throwing the cyclist from the pedal cycle and into the road.

The collision happened at about 5.55pm yesterday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or the manner of driving prior to the collision should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 892 of the September 5.
