WHEATLEY: A meat thief has ended up in the joint for 16 weeks. Micheal McMinn, 33, of Wentworth Road, was jailed after he pleaded guilty to stealing nearly £64 worth of goods from the Co-op in Askern on February 21.

balby: A man was made the subject of a community order after admitting assaulting a woman. James Anthony Buchanan, 44, of Regent Street, was also ordered to stump up £150 after the incident on February 15. As part of his punishment Buchanan must also comply with a supervision requirement and attend regular appointments with an officer.

carcroft: A booze thief will need to drown his sorrows after being stung with a £119 court bill for stealing spirits. Lefa Joe Bull, 20, of George Street, admitted taking two bottles of spirits totalling £38.58 from Co-op in Woodlands on February 29. Bull was also ordered to carry out 60 hours unpaid work as part of his punishment.

edlington: It’s game over for a computer thief who has been made the subject of a community order. Mark Andrew Hancox, 38, of Thomas Street, admitted taking the hand held computer game to the value of £34.99 from Clas Ohlson on March 13. Magistrates ordered Hancox to remain at his address between 9pm and 6am for eight weeks and be monitored with an electronic tag.
