Couple now in the clergy

THE husband of a vicar from Wath-upon-Dearne is following his wife into the clergy.

Bishop of Sheffield Dr Steven Croft ordained Michael Burn as a deacon in a service at Sheffield Cathedral on Sunday, December 16.

Mr Burn is to serve as a self supporting curate at Rotherham Minster.

After working as a deacon for a year, he will be eligible to be considered for ordination to the priesthood.

He is a serving magistrate in Sheffield and is married to the reverend Sue Hobley, vicar of All Saints Parish Church in Wath-upon-Dearne.
