Counselling service marks second year

CLOUDS Community Counselling Service is soon to mark two successful years of helping residents of the Thorne area.

Clouds provides a free and confidential one-to-one professional counselling service, offering a listening ear and support for people with problems.

The service is run by Diploma trained counsellors who can offer help to people suffering from issues including anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationship matters, anger management, bereavement and loss, trauma, chronic illness, addictions, self harm and abuse.

So far 80 referrals have been received and over 700 free counselling sessions given.

Lead counsellor Sally Chamberlain said: "No issue is regarded as too small or unimportant or is excluded.

"The feedback from the users of the service and others has been extremely positive.

"It has been a privilege to work with so many local people; we would like to thank all those who have supported us by giving time and effort in the last two years."

The voluntary organisation operates by appointment only at the Vermuyden Centre in Thorne and offers sessions on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

For help phone 07962 907053 and leave a message. Calls will normally be returned within 24 hours (if not this is possibly due to the message being inaudible, so please ring again).
