Dearne Valley College hosted a number of driver awareness workshops to encourage students to be responsible motorists.
The ‘Drive For Life’ workshops were a collaborative effort between the regions councils, police forces, fire services and driving instructors.
Around 500 students took part in the workshops, which combined interactive activities, question-and-answer sessions and presentations providing information and images of the consequences of reckless driving.
Some youngsters wore some special ‘beer goggles’, while others were breathalysed. Both activities highlighted how alcohol can affect your spatial awareness.
A college spokeswoman said: “The passionate presenters used their knowledge and experiences to help the young people to understand the huge weight of responsibility that driving and vehicle ownerships brings with it.”
