CHANCELLOR George Osborne paid a visit to the region recently to see for himself the benefits the £1.50 Humber Bridge toll will have on North Lincolnshire.

North Lincolnshire Council leader, Coun Liz Redfern said: “George Osborne came to see how significant this announcement (about the toll) will be on residents and businesses crossing the bridge.

“This followed on the heels of North Lincolnshire being awarded the largest Enterprise Zone in the country which will create further business opportunities and job prospects.”

Coun Redfern added: “The Chancellor was very impressed by what he saw and hopes to revisit North Lincolnshire some time in the New Year to see how the move towards reduced tolls will be managed.”
