A DONCASTER driver was unable to start his journey to work in his car - because the vehicle caught fire.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 7.15am on Tuesday morning after the motorist had discovered the flames.

The incident happened at Aintree Avenue, Cantley.

The car was a Peugeot estate and a crew from Doncaster Fire Station attended the incident.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire Service said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
