BREAKING NEWS: Knife wieding thugs rob Conisbrough store

Police are hunting two robbers who held a terrified store assistant at knifepoint in Conisbrough.

Two men burst into the Co-op store in Church Street, and one of pointed a kitchen knife at the woman behind the counter and demanded money.

The assistant shouted a colleague from the rear of the store, who raised the alarm at around 8pm last night.

The robbers then grabbed cash from the till, which they put in a clear plastic bag, and ran from the Co-op, turning right and right again down an alleyway that leads to Waverley Avenue.

No-one was injured in the attack, but staff were badly shaken.

The man with the knife is described as white, aged in his early 20s, around 5ft 8ins tall and of slim build. He was dressed in dark clothing and spoke with a local accent.

His accomplice was also wearing dark clothing. He is said to be slightly shorter at around 5ft 7ins tall, also aged in his early 20s. His accent wasn’t local but he spoke with a deep voice.
