BREAKING NEWS: Darfield murder victim named

DETECTIVES have this afternoon named a woman who was murdered in Darfield as Chantelle Barnsdale-Quean.

Police were called to a house in Upperwood Road on Monday afternoon where they discovered the body of a 35-year-old woman.

A 42-year-old man with stab wounds was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was taken to hospital, but has now been released, a police spokesman said.

Detectives were due to question him over the death.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 825 of March 4.

A post-mortem examination was due to take place to establish how Ms Barnsdale-Quean died.
