Best paws forward for hospice fundraiser

PET pooches can now join the fundraising fun to raise cash for a hospice.

Dog owners and their pet pals are encouraged to step out in a sponsored dog walk for Barnsley Hospice.

‘Paws in the Park’ will see participants tackling routes of two-and-a-half or six miles.

Proceeds will go to the running of the hospice, that cares for anyone across the borough who has a life-threatening illness, along with their loved ones.

Organiser Mandy Ibbotson said: “Last year 74 dogs took part. It promises to be a great day out for all the family – everyone is welcome.”

The sponsored walk and ‘Wufts’ dog show is at Cannon Hall Country Park on September 2. Walkers can register until August 28, or on the day from 11.30am to 2pm. Entry costs £6, and all participants will receive a free bandana, certificate and goody bag. Visit www. barnsleyhospice.org
