A BATTLE of the Books, that was launched by two authors to raise funds for tragic Isle boy Alex Strong, has now ended.

On a facebook page devoted to the challenge, that involved Epworth writers Adele Carrington and Rebecca Kershaw, all its supporters were offered ‘heartfelt thanks’.

Remaining money will go to Lexy’s Fund, to help other families with children with cancer, and any outstanding contributions should be made as soon as possible to one of the authors.

The two women took up tasks set by Isle friend Charlotte Oatway, for challenges that included ‘selling their book in the most unlikely place’.

Funds raised through royalties from the pair’s first published novels were to be donated to help fund treatment for Epworth boy Alex, who has since died from his rare childhood cancer, neuroblastoma.

Printed copies of Rebecca’s novel Bleed Black and Adele’s book Denial are available on Amazon.
