Officers from the Maltby Safer Neighbourhood Team joined forces with Rotherham Council, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and residents for a day of action, which included arrests for cannabis production.

The operation took place around Berseford Road, Nelson Road, Farquhar Road, Tickhill Road, Glenncairn Court and Highfield Park, which is known locally as China Town.

Officers along with young people from the community conducted a speeding operation along Tickhill Road, after residents had complained about speeding motorists. Thirty-two vehicles were checked using the hand held speed gun, no motorists were found to be speeding.

They officers gave road safety advice and booklets to local children, and high visibility vests were handed out to the local newsagents for their staff to use when delivering papers.

A drop in surgery was held at Glenn Cairn Community Centre, where residents could go and talk to local officers from the SNT about any issues they had in the area. Crime Prevention advice was also given to the residents.

Officers from Rotherham Council along with local people collected litter and waste from around the area filling a large skip.
