YOUNG people interested in a career in the horse racing industry can get a head start with the help of a specialist college.

Those aged over 16 can apply for a foundation course in advance of an apprenticeship at the Northern Racing College which welcomes a fresh intake of beginners every six weeks.

Applicants must have an interest in horses but don’t need experience or qualifications. Students will complete a 12-week residential course working towards a Level 1 Diploma in work-based racehorse care.

They could then further their studies and skills with an apprenticeship and achieve a Level 2 Diploma and other qualifications through workplace training.

For more details attend one of the regular college taster days, email sarah.beattie@northernracingcollege.co.uk or visit www.northernracingcollege.co.uk.
