THE glamour of burlesque entertainment hits Barnsley this Friday, with a charity show at the Barnsley Trades Club.
Co-ordinator and performing artiste Danni La Blue said: “The show has an astounding line up and is a chance for people to see burlesque cabaret at its best. It is also helping to raise money for a local charity, the Barnsley Hospice”.
“There is nudity”, warns Danni, but it’s all good fun”!
The line-up on the night includes Starla Bright, a UK-based dancer and burlesque artist, performer Eva Mae Fonkel, the show’s organiser Ambelina Dreamer, along with Flix Demontrant, wartime burlesque dancer Mhia More, and the cheeky co-ordinator Danni La Blue.
To give the evening’s extravaganza a swing mood the show will also include The Pete Rigby Jazz Experience - a four piece jazz band, with comedy and magic provided by compere Steve Mcbeth.
Burlesque originally became popular in America in the 1930s with shows that featured provocative dancers and nude performers. British shows included a variety of acts such as magicians, singers and acrobats. Doors open 7:30pm. For further information contact Jo tel. 07905193061.
