HUNDREDS of pupils had a taste of several Olympic events during an indoor tournament.

Several schools across the borough including Branton St Wilfrid’s Primary, Bessacarr’s Willow Primary, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Rossington, Bentley’s Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Hatfield Crookesbroom Primary competed against each other.

Pupils covered a wide variety of events similar to what Olympians will be doing in the summer such as sprinting, relay races and javelin.

The event at The Dome was part of the South Yorkshire School Games.

Schools in Doncaster will later take on some of the region’s best performers during the sporting festival.
