TEENAGERS from three Doncaster schools got a taste of justice without getting into the slightest bit of trouble.

In fact their appearance at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court in College Road was praised by JPs who organised the annual Mock Trial competition.

Three Doncaster schools - Danum Academy, Hall Cross Academy and Hungerhill - and one school from Brigg competed against each other.

Hall Cross was judged the winners of the competition and now go on to the regional heat at Leeds courthouse in May. If it is successful it will go into the national finals in June in Nottingham.

Doncaster and District Law Society provided the trophies, which were presented by vice-president Alison Turner, and Giles Bloomer, Vice-Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire.

“I think Doncaster should see what the kids are doing in their own time at weekends,” said Mavis Latham, the JP organiser.
