Joseph Law, of Hellaby, reached a weight of over 24stone at the age of just 16 due to ordering in Chinese food every lunchtime and avoiding exercise.

But after the teen befriended the delivery driver at his favourite Chinese restaurant, Tom Stringer, who is a fitness fanatic, things turned around for Joseph.

Speaking to The Mirror, Joseph explained how Tom helped him shed the pounds by putting him on a gruelling exercise regime, and taking him for a run or to the gym.

"I'd have a Chinese meal every lunchtime, plus other junk food and never exercised," Joseph told The Mirror.

"I saw Tom most days and told him 'I wish I could be muscular'.

"He said: 'it'll take work'

"He put me on a bodybuilder's diet of chicken and rice, took me to Ziggy's gym in Masbrough or for a run, and the weight just fell off.

"They transformed my life and I'm considering becoming a personal trainer.
