A more comfortable environment has been created in the Chatsfield Suite at Doncaster Royal Infirmary thanks to generous donations from the public, patients and their relatives.
The Chatsfield Suite, which provides chemotherapy services to its cancer patients with haematology and solid tumour malignancies, has recently had new patient and visitor seating fitted throughout.
Donations are always being made from grateful patients, their family or just members of the public who like to give a little towards the care and comfort of patients. It’s these donations that have built up, that have contributed to the purchase of new chairs and tables for the reception area and visitors chairs in the treatment area.
Approximately £10,000 has been spent on refurbishing these areas, of which £8,000 was used to replace the chairs and tables in reception and the remainder to replace visitors’ chairs in the treatment area.
These upgrades have now brought them up to the required standards of infection control and increased the number of chairs, which was needed due to the increased number of patients and visitors.
