There’s free help on offer to smokers to give them a hand to stub out their habit in the New Year.

If you live in Doncaster and you have made a New Year’s resolution to give up smoking you should get in touch with the local stop smoking service.

The Doncaster Stop Smoking Service can offer free advice on all the medications available but more importantly can advise people on how to change their behaviour.

Maryanne Wylde, stop smoking specialist at the service, which is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Coming to your local stop smoking service will increase your chances of success by up to four times than if you were to try to quit on your own. There are a wide range of products that can help you deal with withdrawal symptoms and our advisors can help you decide on the one that fits in with your lifestyle. Your health will start to improve very quickly when you stub out your final cigarette and don’t forget the money you will save.

“Doncaster Stop Smoking Service has a range of appointments that suit most people, so call 01302 640064 to find one that suits you. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain,” Maryanne added.

Phone the Stop Smoking Service on (01302) 640064.
