BRAVE residents undertook chest, head and leg waxes to raise around £1,400 in aid of a little Epworth boy who suffers from a rare form of cancer.

Volunteers undertook the hair-raising challenge at the Old School Inn at Epworth on Friday evening.

The money will help pay for the treatment Alexander Strong, aged seven, who suffers from a cancer called neuroblastoma. Alex’s dad Mark and his uncle Den took part in the chest wax.

Leesa Sharpe, owner of the Sunspot Tanning and Beauty Salon, who carried out the waxing, said: “It was a great effort.”

Alex’s family want to raise £90,000 so he can have specialist treatment. He was due to meet doctors yesterday who will decide his treatment.
