BUS passengers in the district will be offered a free ticket for badly disrupted journeys.
First is reintroducing a scheme where it offers customers who hold a valid travel ticket or pass the chance to make a claim for a free FirstDay ticket.
Passengers can make the claim when a service departs more than one minute early, when a service departs more than 20 minutes late and when an advertised service fails to operate.
This is for journeys that are affected by a vehicle breakdown or an error on behalf of the company.
It does not include factors outside of First’s control such as severe weather disruption or short notice road closures.
First, which operates 500 buses across the region, wants to increase the number of people using buses in South Yorkshire.
Bob Hamilton, managing director of First, said: “We work tirelessly to provide reliable, good value bus services across our network and will not - as far as we can influence - allow that to be jeopardised.”
The ticket initiative launched on Monday, May 9.
