Flower power set to bring colour to Chesterfield

Chesterfield residents are invited to help make their area brighter, cleaner and greener as part of the annual Chesterfield in Bloom campaign.

The launch for the Chesterfield Council led event takes place at Eastwood Park, Hasland on May 9 from 11am to 3pm.

There will be plants, vegetables, flowers and produce on sale and volunteers will offer advice on green living, including recycling and gardening.

There will be the opportunity for residents to grow their own plants, displays by community groups and wildlife activities for children as well as tours around the community garden.

Residents can take part in a clean-up event at Holmebrook Valley Park, meeting at the pavilion on Watermeadow Lane at 9am.
