Fitness jobs scheme opens

A SCHEME to help young people not in employment, education or training take the first steps into a career in the leisure and fitness industry starts this month.

The six-month TAG - Transforming a Generation - scheme will offer “NEETs” a four-month paid work placement during which they will work towards gaining a level two health and fitness instructor qualification.

The Doncaster TAG centre - based at Armthorpe Leisure Centre in Mere Lane - is one of 40 across the country and opens on February 21.

TAG is supported by major fitness industry operators, including Fitness First and LA Fitness.
