Animal lovers were in for a real treat when members of Haxey Hounds Dog Training ran a fun dog show and carried out a display too.

There was also a vast range of stalls to browse, plus a farrier demonstrating horseshoe making and a display of vintage vehicles.

Councillor Hazel Brand said: “Thank you to All Saints’ Parish Church for supporting the event, and Misterton Sports Social Club for hosting it.

“And thanks to all the exhibitors, those who did demos and all the visitors who turned out despite the weather forecast.”

She continued: “Feedback from residents is appreciated and the date of next year’s gala is Saturday, July 1.”

The winner of this year’s scarecrow competition was Jane Flatters with The Skier.

Nikki Jaggard-Smith, of the gala committee, said: “We had a fabulous day despite the weather.

“A huge thanks to everyone for attending and making the day the success that it was.”

Throughout the day there were about 450 adults and children at the event.
