Students and education bosses are celebrating record results at John Leggott College.
The college, where the majority of Isle sixth formers attend, said 99 per cent of its students achieved at least one A*to E grade and it also saw a 50 per cent rise in the number of grades A* to B.
A two per cent increase in the pass rate and a jump in the proportion of high grades makes this year’s results the best in the college’s history.
A total of 33 subjects at the college reported a 100 per cent pass rate, including chemistry, physics, music, performing arts, art, graphics, photography, geography, English language, English literature, French and German.
Principal David Vasse said: “We are delighted to see our students receiving such excellent results, which enable them to follow their ambitions and move on to the next phase in their lives.
“I am proud of both students and staff, whose hard work and commitment has led to an exceptional record of achievement for the college.
“The movement taken by the college over the last year is remarkable and it is testimony to the dedication shown to the study of challenging qualifications.
“This exceptional set of results means John Leggott College has now climbed well above the national sixth form college averages for success rates.”
