Kids draw ideas from animator

MEDIA students have been drawing inspiration from one of the world’s best animators.

Teenagers from Trinity Academy in Thorne took part in a workshop with Hugh Jay, one of the leading animators who has worked on blockbusters including The Matrix and The Simpsons.

More than 30 A Level students went on the field trip to London to examine the world of media, film and TV.

They worked with Hugh at Movieum, as well as visiting an Imax cinema and the British Board of Film Classification.

Student Jay Cafferty said: “Working with Hugh was a real inspiration. I was a bit reluctant to even try drawing at first but he brought the very best out in all of us.

“My animation looked quite good, which was a real surprise.”
