Doncaster College is widening the opportunity for families to become involved in the Doncaster Children’s University by launching an e-passport.

The e-passport is an online facility for children to log any learning that they are involved in outside school, as long as the club or attraction is registered with Doncaster Children’s University as a Learning Destination.

Manager Linda Metcalfe said: “If your favourite club or attraction is not registered with us then we can arrange registration free of charge. The Children’s University pack costs £10 per year and includes everything that is needed to participate and gain credits.

“We are very excited to be able to launch the e-passport to families in Doncaster who would like to be involved with the Children’s University. Until now children and families have only been able to take part in Children’s University if their school is involved, this new initiative will open doors for more families to join in.”

The Children’s University is a unique initiative that rewards children between five and 14-years-old for learning outside the classroom. National certificates are awarded to children who visit or attend registered Learning Destinations such as sports clubs, museums, and libraries.

Linda continued: “If you run an after school club that can demonstrate learning outcomes for children and would like to become a Children’s University Learning Destination please contact the office today.”
