Sixth form Swinton Community School students experienced French culture and extended hands across the ocean during a trip to Paris.

They visited the iconic Eiffel Tower and climbed all the way up to the second floor to enjoy the capital at night and also attended a Business Live conference.

The students also attended an Information event and a Communication Technology Live event and took in the sights and sounds of Disneyland Paris.

Year 10 student, Jacob Wood, said: “The best bit for me was going up the Eiffel Tower at night and seeing the sights of the capital spread out below us all lit up.”

The students from Years 10, 11 and 12 were in the French capital to taste what the country had to offer in terms of its food – with a meal at Planet Hollywood – its culture and commerce.

Teachers at the school said that all students who went on the trip were exceedingly well behaved and responded positively to all the activities they were offered.

Joe Wingate, teaching assistant, who accompanied teaching staff on the trip, said that the entire group represented the school remarkably and were fine ambassadors for the district.
