Third annual awards event to reward and recognise community and voluntary sector achievements.

For the third consecutive year, Doncaster CVS will recognise and reward the achievements of Doncaster’s thriving third sector with its Community and Voluntary Sector Awards 2015.

With the support of the Doncaster Free Press and Sine FM as well as headline sponsor Smith Craven and award category sponsors such as Doncaster Chamber, Taylor Bracewell, Business Doncaster, Beta Technology, Weldricks, Doncaster Mind and Age UK.

Nominations are now open for this year’s awards and winners will be announced at a prestigious awards event at the Keepmoat Stadium on Friday 4th December from 9.30am to 1pm.

Explains Norma Wardman, director of Doncaster CVS: “Over 200 people from across Yorkshire and the Humber attended last year’s AGM and awards event and, once again, we had an overwhelmingly positive response from everyone who took part.”

This year there are eight separate award categories, each with their own individual sponsor:

· Social Enterprise of the Year - Weldricks

· Community Group of the Year – to be voted for by readers of the Doncaster Free Press

· Registered Charity of the Year – Taylor Bracewell

· Volunteer of the Year

* Senior Volunteer - Age UK

* Young Volunteer – Allotts

· Most Inspiring Individual in the Community & Voluntary Sector - Doncaster Mind

· Most Inspiring Organisation in the Community & Voluntary Sector - BetaTechnology

· Most Innovative Project in the Community & Voluntary Sector – Doncaster Chamber

· Lifetime Achievement Award – Doncaster CVS

Kelvin Fitton from headline sponsors, Smith Craven, said: “As a local business, we’ve always been proud supporters of Doncaster’s community and voluntary sector.
