A community stalwart and Doncaster parish councillor has died.

Eric Batty, a parish councillor for Brodsworth and Scawsby, died at the age of 86 earlier this month.

Mr Batty passed away peacefully at his home on January 3. He was the father of David, grandfather of Cheryl and great grandfather of Ella.

The funeral service will be held on January 22 at Bentley Methodist Church at 10.15am, followed by burial at Arksey Cemetery.

Family flowers only and donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
