People in Thorne are being urged to take the plunge for a charity ‘swimathon’.
Hundreds have already signed up and will pledged their support by diving into their nearest swimming pool.
Proceeds will go towards the cost of Marie Curie nurses providing free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses.
Swimathon 2011 challenge will take place between April 8 to 10.
Katie Grinter, a regional Marie Curie fundraiser, said: “There are just six weeks to go until the swimathon but there is still time for people to help make a big splash for charity by getting a place at their local pool.”
