FUN and fundraising came together in a big way as schools, community groups and one super fit pensioner put their all into raising cash for Sport Relief.

Mexborough woman Violet Lucy, 77, took part in a four hour marathon zumba dance class at Meadowhall Shopping Centre.

The super fit mother-of-four has been taking classes for about eight months. Along with fellow members of the Energised Fitness class , she raised more than £3000.

At Phoenix Park in Thurnscoe, pupils from primary schools at Goldthorpe and Thurnscoe were sent on their money-making miles by pupil stewards from the Dearne ALC and raised over £2000 with cash for the coffers still pouring in.

Meanwhile, pupils and staff at Rawmarsh Community School fundraised throughout this week from Monday, when pupils donned fancy dress to do their miles.
