NEXT month’s meeting of the Crowle and Ealand Heritage Society will feature a talk by Phil Bonner on the airfields of Northern Lincolnshire.
Bonner served at RAF Waddingham and he is the Aviation Development Officer for Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire and the talk will focus on the role of airfields during World War Two, including Sandtoft.
Betsy Lutz, chair of the Crowle and Ealand Heritage Society, said: “ This is sure to be an interesting talk that will appeal to many people in the area, particularly those with a connection to the local airfields.”
The meeting will be held at St Norbert’s Church Hall on Fieldside, Crowle, and will start at 7:30pm on Thursday, November 10.
All are welcome and admission costs £2, including refreshments.
The society studies and promotes the history and heritage of Crowle via talks by guest speakers and members on the first Thursday of the month from September through to May.
Day trips are also organised during the summer. The 2011/12 season will also include talks about Hirst Priory, Abraham de la Pryme and investigating the history of houses.
