Another cash machine has been stolen using a digger during an early morning raid, in the latest in a spate of ram raids that police believe are ‘linked’.
The latest incident occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning at a petrol station in Lea Road, Gainsborough.
Officers believe the cash machine was pulled from the wall using a digger.
This comes after cash machines have been stolen from shops and convenience stores in Hatfield, Crowle, Epworth and Blyth in recent weeks.
A South Yorkshire police spokesman said ‘officers believe the incidents are linked’.
They continued: “Police are working closely with a number of neighbouring forces in relation to reported ram raids at stores involving thefts or attempted thefts of cash machines.”
Investigating officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the Lea Road area at around 4.08am yesterday morning, or any suspicious vehicles, to contact Lincs Police on 101 quoting incident 34 of February 23, 2015.
