A NOISY neighbour has had audio equipment seized after flouting an order telling her to turn her music down.

Kerry Jarrett has been landed with a £700 fine with costs of nearly £1,030 after breaking the council order on June 14 and 27 at a property in Clayfield Avenue, Mexborough.

Magistrates seized equipment including a hi-fi, speakers, a TV and a DVD player.

A case that the 40-year-old now of Chapel Street, Mexborough, broke the Environmental Protection Act was proved at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court in her absence.

Afterwards Coun Cynthia Ransome, cabinet member for communities, said: “We have taken this action to prevent any further disturbance being caused.”
