Raid nets £360,000 of drugs

A POLICE raid in a busy village high street this week uncovered a massive cannabis farm.

Officers and baliffs found 1,200 cannabis plants with a street value of around £360,000 in the property in Bentley High Street.

They had launched the operation at 12.20pm on Tuesday following a tip off.

All the equipment discovered was destroyed along with the plants, said a police spokesman.

No-one was in the property, the former Perfection hair salon, when it was raided.

Enquiries are continuing, say officers.

The farm is one of the biggest to be discovered in recent months in the Doncaster area.
