Police in Doncaster have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to about a supermarket theft.
The theft happened at about 8.45am on April 3 when a 31-year-old man used the self service checkout at the Asda supermarket on Edlington Lane in Edlington.
He requested £50 cashback but, while packing his shopping away and paying, he did not pick the cash up from the machine.
He left the store - and another man then used the self service machine next to his. It is believed he took the £50 from the machine and then also left the store.
Anyone who believes they may know the identity of the man is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting crime reference number A/31794/2013.
A similar opportunist theft in Doncaster town centre is also being investigated.
While a 61-year-old woman was trying on shoes in the clothing section of Marks and Spencer in Baxter Gate, she placed her handbag on the seats and then continued shopping in the store without picking up her handbag.
At some point afterwards, it is believed another woman came and sat on the same seats, picked up the handbag, then went upstairs - where the handbag was later found in the toilets with £70 missing.
Anyone who has any information about the crime on April 1 is asked to call the police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting crime reference A/29700/2013.
