Manhunt after armed raid in Carcroft

A manhunt has been launched after a woman was subjected to a terrifying knifepoint robbery in a Doncaster newsagents.

Four men are wanted by police for the raid at Carcroft News on Owston Road in which they threatened the female shop assistant with knives.

The suspects stole a significant amount of cash as well as cigarettes and tobacco before fleeing the scene.

All four spoke with local accents and were wearing balaclavas and dark coloured clothing.

DC Pete Muir investigating appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.

He added: “This was a particularly nasty attack that has left the victim incredibly shaken and distressed.

“Fortunately she did not sustain any injuries however she has endured a terrifying ordeal because of the selfish actions of these men.

“I would urge anyone who has any information to please come forward and contact the police.”

The incident happened just before 10pm on Thursday February 5.

Concerned residents spoke out on Facebook immediately after the offence took place.

Sian Winehouse Simpson Shaw said: “I was in there minutes before it happened glad I didn’t hang around. Scumbags want their fingers choppin off x”

Andrew Mcintyre posted: “In the past few year Doncaster has become a really horrible place to live and its getting that bad even your pets arnot safe anymore.”
