NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch groups will soon be able to report those who persistently litter and let their dogs foul on the street.
Traditionally, the schemes are set up to dter criminals but members are to be given new powers aimed at keeping Doncaster clean and making sure residents can be proud of where they live.
Doncaster Council and South Yorkshire Police have launched the scheme which allows members to report issues such as fly-tipping, dog fouling, grafiti, abandoned vehicles and people throwing litter from car windows, to the council.
Hundreds of “watchers” have been discussing how to report environmental crime at meetings across Doncaster.
To report an incident of littering, call the council on (01302) 736000 or visit www.doncaster.gov.uk
