Inquest into deaths of Branton fireball crash victims to open today

An inquest into the deaths of two Doncaster men, who lost their lives when a car crashed into a house and burst into flames, is set to open this afternoon.

The inquest into the deaths of Dean McIntyre, aged 27, and 26-year-old Liam Aldred is due to be opened at Doncaster coroners’ court.

The two men were travelling inside a car, believed to be a Renault Megane, when it was involved in a collision with a house in Poppyfields Way, Branton, at around 12.50pm on Tuesday August, 25.

Both men died on the scene as a result of their injuries.

A third man who was inside the car remains in hospital in a critical condition.

A total of four people have been arrested in connection with the collision.

Two men, aged 21 and 18, and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A 21-year-old Doncaster woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All four have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
