British Transport Police would like to trace this woman in connection with the theft of a wallet from a ticket machine at Doncaster station.

Police have issued images of a woman they wish to speak to in connection with the theft of a wallet containing £750 and flight tickets from Doncaster rail station which took place on March 24.

PC Roy Percival, investigating, said: “The victim, a 34-year-old-man from Barnsley, left his wallet containing a large quantity of cash on top of a ticket machine on the main concourse.

“While he then headed for his train on the platform without the wallet, a woman immediately approached the ticket machine once the victim had left the area and took it.

“It is believed the woman then walked out of the station in the direction of the Frenchgate shopping centre.”

In addition to £750 cash, the brown wallet contained various bank cards and flight tickets for a journey which subsequently had to be cancelled as a result of the theft.

PC Percival added: “A significant amount of money was stolen in this theft, and it had an additional impact on the victim due to the loss of the flight tickets.

“It is vital that we speak to the woman picture, as she may have important information regarding this investigation.”
