A TEENAGE girl has been hurt in a hit and run in the main road running through a Thorne area town.
Police have launched an investigation to trace the driver who failed to stop following the collision on a pedestrian crossing.
A 15-year-old girl had started to cross a pedestrian crossing in High Street, Dunsville, after the lights had turned red when she was knocked down by a car,
The driver stopped briefly further up the road but then drove off.
The girl suffered a fractured knee, police said.
The car is described as small, red and having four doors.
Police only released details about the hit and run which happened at about 7pm on Saturday, January 22 this week.
