A crackdown on scrap metal carriers and trade vans has taken place in Stainforth.
The one-day operation involved officers from the Stainforth Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Vehicle Operator Services Agency who check 36 vehicles in total.
Two people were reported by Doncaster Council’s enforcement team for not having a carrier’s licence. Several drivers were served with prohibition notices for defective vehicles, along with two for having un-roadworthy vehciles. The owner of a transit van suspected of fly-tipping and poaching was served with a prohibition notice until he could produce a valid MOT. Officers say they will continue to monitor the van. One person was investgated for working while claiming benefits.
More operations are planned.
