An e-fit showing the suspect who is thought to have seriously assaulted a Doncaster man on New Year’s Eve has been released today.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Steve Whittaker said: “The e-fit should help jog peoples’ memories. Does this image look familiar? Do you think you may have seen this man in Bawtry on New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day or have you seen him anywhere since?”

Iain Eldridge, remains in a critical condition, suffering from a serve head injury in hospital, after the unprovoked attack in the early hours of New Year’s Day on Station Road, Bawtry, Doncaster.

Police are organising an awareness operation for the week anniversary of the incident and will be out in force in Bawtry, talking to members of the public and asking questions, in a bid to gain further information.

The suspect is described as a white man, of a stocky build. He is thought to be in his late 20s to early 30s and has short blond hair.
