A former Doncaster police constable has been charged with historic child sex offences that are alleged to have taken place in the borough.

David Richard Martin, of Sycamore Grove, Cantley appeared at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 19 where he was charged with the indecent assault of two girls under the age of 16.

The offences are alleged to have happened in the Doncaster area.

The 67-year-old served as a police constable with South Yorkshire Police and was based in the Doncaster area before retiring from the force in 2003.

He is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court next month charged with the offences.
